We are always adapting to the changing climate and thus have moved our classes outdoors. Fencing is our passion and we want to give our students the opportunity to fence even if it is untraditionally outdoors.

We will have private lessons on Wednesdays from 4 pm to 7 pm and Sundays from 3 pm to 5 pm.

We will have a group class on Sundays from 1 pm to 3 pm which will have electrical bouting available. All students must have their own gear or contact a Coach to rent some from the club. All students should bring extra water, towels, wear sunscreen, and face masks will be required the entire time.

We were all disappointed to learn that they closed indoor activities after so many eager fencers came back, but we learned to adapt and change just as we must on the fencing strip and are offering these services outside. We hope to see everyone there and look forward to continuing to fence!

Majority of the clubs on this list have been open for more than 10 years, some more than 20 years! We are definitely the youngest club in the top 20 and our fencers deserve this recognition! We may be a small club against these giants, but we keep growing and striving to succeed! Great job and keep it up everyone!

3rd Annual Sword in the Stone Results!
Day 1 was eventful as our only fencers, Jade Gauriat and Zoe Kim fenced in Y14 Women's Epee.
They both fenced well in pools as Y12 fencers and won their first DEs. They then fenced each other in the 8s where Jade edged out Zoe for Jade to take home the Bronze and Zoe placed 5th overall. What a great event where both fencers placed with medals!
Day 2 continued our success with Y14 Men's Epee where Jonathan Oh placed 11th, earning his E2019, and Thien Scofield finished 24th out of over 50 fencers! In Y12 Women's Epee, Jade and Zoe fenced each other once again in the top 8, but this time Zoe edged out Jade with a 15-14 score. Zoe then continued to end with the Silver with a close loss in the final, 14-15. Jade finished in 5th for the day. What a way for our fencers to keep excelling!
The last day was exciting as our little 11 year old fencer, Zoe Kim, fenced her first Cadet event and fenced beyond her years by taking home the Bronze and earning her D2019! She fought hard in the age category 2 levels above hers! In Y12 Men's Epee, Thien Scofield lost one in pools and finished 13th overall out of 33 fencers after losing a tough bout to the eventual Silver medalist. Way to fight! Then in Y10 Women's Epee, Olivia Lee fought hard and came home with the Bronze! Camilla Lee, our youngest fencer, missed the top 8 by one touch in priority, gaining invaluable experience with each bout. It is always so amazing to see these fencers grow day by day.

In Y12 Women's epee, Annabelle Kim(Allez) placed higher than before and finished
We had some great times, learning experiences, and more national points! I got to see some cheeseballs with both Allez Fencing Studio and Swords Fencing Studio students this past weekend. Chester Thompson(Allez) had a good run in Y14 as a Y12 fencer and missed earning Y14 national points by 1 touch losing to the top 8 seed 14-15. In Y12 Men's Epee, Chester earned a higher ranking and more Y12 national points after going undefeated in pools. Darius Kim(Swords) also went undefeated but lost narrowly to get into top 8 by 2 points.

At the South Coast RYC we had some great results! In Y10 Women's Epee, Zoe Kim came away with the Gold medal! She fenced a little rough but pulled it through. In Y10 Men's Epee, Thien Scofield went 4-2 In pools and Nathan Kim went 3-3. They both fenced well but things didn't fall in place for them. Nathan lost his first DE missing a medal by just 2 points against a much taller opponent finishing a respectable 9th place. Thien won his first DE, but lost his 2nd DE to finish 5th overall.

We also had great results from both Allez Fencing Studio and Swords Fencing Studio students. They had a great time and learned some great lessons in Y12 Women's Epee at the Long Beach RYC! Nora Wang(Swords) took home the Bronze after working on everything she needed to work on! She flesched and
used her longer lunges! It was a great step forward! Natalie Leung(Swords) finished in 7th after having a tough time in pools to pull it together and lose to the Gold Medalist in her Des! The youngest, Zoe Kim(Allez), who is still in Y10, made an amazing run and finished in 8th place after beating the #6 seed in the 16s 15-7! What a trooper! Annabelle Kim fought hard and had a hard time in pools, but she pulled it together and won her first DE!
Let's keep up the hard work girls! In Y12 Men's Epee, Chester Thompson had his first top 16 finish after beating a fencer in DEs that he had lost to in pools 1-5! Way to pull it together! He placed 15th overall. Andrew Moore had a good run in pools with a 3-2 finish but lost his DE to finish 17th. Thien Scofield had a tough pool but

went 2-3. He had a bad draw and drew training partner, Darius Kim, in his first DE and finished a respectable 19th out of 35. Nathan Kim, our youngest at 9 years old, fenced his first Y12 event and scored against every opponent! He didn't win any in his pools but won his first DE to finish 31st! Great job! So proud of all of them!

What a great trip Allez Fencing Studio and many firsts for our students! Annabelle Kim and Nathan Kim both fought hard in their first National competition and had a great experience. Annabelle won 2 pools bouts in Y14 Women's Epee but lost her first DE.  Nathan only won 1 pool bout but won his first DE in Y10 Mens Epee to lose
to teammate, Thien Scofield, in his second DE. Annabelle had a rough start in Y12 Women's Epee with 1 pool win, but fought hard and won her first DE against a higher seeded opponent to lose her next one against the 10th seed. Thien Scofield showed great promise and resolve by winning his entire pool in Y10 Men's Epee to finish 17th overall out of 69 fencers and to earn his first National Points ever! He also fenced Y12 Men's Epee and was a good foot shorter than his opponents. He split his pool 3-3 and
fenced the 26th seed where he kept it close, fought hard and lost 11-15. Jonathan Oh also showed great promise in Y14 Men's Epee as a 12-year old by splitting his pool 3-3. He won his first DE and then kept it close with the 26th seed but lost 12-15. He fought well and I'm so proud! Alex Jeon fenced incredibly for only doing epee a few months. He went 5-1 in pools in Y14 to win his first DE easily and then to lose to the very talented, Matthew Dao, in the 64s to earn his 1st national points! Zoe Kim in Y12 also fought hard and split her pool 3-3. She won her first DE

easily 15-6 and then lost to the 22nd seed 4-13 as time started to run out on her. She also performed amazingly well in Y10 Women's Epee with a Silver medal! It was her first time on the finals strip and she was a little awestruck. She lost a 9-6 lead to lose 9-10 in priority against the #1 ranked girl in the nation. It was her first time fencing both the #2 and #1 ranked girls in the country and she fought valiantly. We will keep working and striving for the best! I'm so proud of all my students and how hard they have worked. This event showed us more of what needs to be worked on and what the future can bring. Congratulations to all and let's keep working hard!

Day 1 of the Torrey Pines RYC and it's a Gold medal and an awesome sword for Zoe Kim in Y10 Women's Epee! She was not feeling the fencing well but fought hard and pulled it out in the end. She earned her 3rd first place in the region and earned her Y10 patch as being number one in Region 4! So proud! Way to go Zoe!
Day 2 of the Torrey Pines RYC and it's 2 more medals for Allez Fencing Studio! In Y12 Men's Epee, Jonathan Oh finished with an 8th place medal! He had a hard time in pools, went 3-2, and had to fence his teammate, Chester Thompson to make the top 16. He skated by with a 15-13 and had to fence another tough fencer , the #4

seed out of pools and training partner, Darius Kim to make the top 8. He was down 5-0 but made a comeback and won 15-11. He then lost to Schuder in the top 8, 12-15. In Y10 Men's Epee, Thien Scofield fenced beautifully after finishing 22nd out of 43 fencers in the Y12 Men's Epee event earlier in the day to fence the Y10 Men's Epee event in the afternoon and came home with the Silver! His best result yet! He was exhausted but still managed a 5-1 record in pools and once DEs hit, he found his stride. He got a bye into the 16, fenced and won 10-2, then fenced who he lost to in pools in the 8s and won 10-5, he fenced his friend, Joshua Ferriere, in the semis and won 10-4 to make the finals. He fenced another friend, Sebastien Noel, in the finals, was down 8-1, started a come back, but was too tired and lost in the finals 5-10. Great job to both boys and their awesome hard work! Let's keep fighting!

Day 1 of the Long Beach Ryc and Allez Fencing Studio came away with 2 solid medals and great performances in pools! Zoe Kim came away with a 1st in pools and the Gold medal again after her last one last weekend to finish undefeated in Y10 Women's Epee! Great job! Thien Scofield had his best pool results ever and fenced great with a #1 seed out of pools in a tough pool! He fenced well and started his top 8 bout down 1-5, but he regrouped and tied the bout 6-6 to push it into priority. He fenced valiantly but barely missed to lose the bout 6-7. He finished with a strong 5th place medal. Great job to both fencers and their families! We can finally see a lot of their hard work start to pay off! Keep it up!

On Day 2 it was another great day for these young girls. In Y14 Women's Epee, Nora Wang and Amelia Wu both took home the
Bronze medal and Amanda Dingman fought hard and placed 7th overall from Swords Fencing Studio. It was a pleasure to help coach these girls and I look forward to their future successes! Great job girls!

Last day of the Mary Rafanelli RYC and I'm so proud of these girls! In Y12 Women's Epee, Nora Wang took home the
Silver and Natalie Leung finished 8th overall from Swords Fencing Studio! Nora took home 2 medals this weekend, Bronze in Y14 and Silver in Y12! Way to fight! It is a pleasure to coach you both! They all tried their best and the hard work is starting to show. Let's keep it up boys!! In Junior Women's Epee, Kristen Kim showed true grit and spunk after not fencing for 3 months! She was down 4-11 in the 16s against the #2 seed in pools to come back and tie it 13-13. She ended up losing to get to top 8 14-15, but fought so hard! What a trooper! Also Emily Zhou (Swords) showed her fight against teammate, Helen Myers with a close bout, losing 14-15 to get to top 8! Helen went on to bring home 7th place overall. Great work girls!
